CYCLING AT SHRIGLEY
GLORIOUS RIDING
Following the recent UK boom of cycling, the Peak District is now synonymous with the two-wheeled pastime. GB cycling are based in nearby Manchester and members of the squads are frequently seen training on the local roads around the hotel and nearby hills.
Shrigley Hall offers the perfect location to enjoy some of the finest rides, both on and off-road in the North-West. The hotel sits at the bottom of the famous ‘Brickworks’ climb – as featured in the 2016 and 2021 Tour of Britain, whilst iconic ‘cols’ including Holme Moss, Winnats Pass, and Mam Nick can all be incorporated within a ride from Shrigley.
Superb mountain biking can be enjoyed in nearby Edale and Castleton. Alternatively, for those that are after a more relaxed pedal, the 10 mile Middlewood Way is perfect – offering an easy ride and refreshment options along the route. In addition, flat, quiet routes through the Cheshire countryside are also easily accessible.

“The hotel is beautiful and set in a wonderful location. The local rides were challenging and I was very happy with the welcome we had and everything we asked for was on hand. The food was absolutely spot on.”
