Lyme Park is a stunning country estate, on the edge of the village of Disley, extending over 1400 acres of magnificent moorland. Dating back to the 14th century, it comprises of a stately mansion house, surrounded by formal gardens and deer park. On site, guests can also enjoy fabulous walks and trails, an adventure playground, cafe’s, National Trust gift shops and a second hand bookshop. It is a popular shooting location for TV and film. It famously featured as ‘Pemberley’ in the BBC’s adaptation of ‘Pride and Prejudice’, starring Colin Firth as Mr Darcy and Jennifer Ehle as Elizabeth Bennett. Lyme Park neighbours Shrigley Hall and enjoys historical links with the Hotel. Ellen Turner, daughter of former owner William Turner was married to Thomas Legh, owner of Lyme Park in the early 19th century. PLEASE NOTE: although next door to Shrigley, Lyme Park is a 6 mile drive from the hotel and transport is NOT included. You can visit either on day of arrival or day of departure. Lyme Park is open 7 days a week, 8.30am-5pm. Please refer to Lyme Park website for opening hours of individual facilities within the estate. NOTE: the mansion is closed every Wednesday, and also during the whole month of November
