Lyme Park
The ‘Pemberley’ film location for the BBC production of Pride and Prejudice, National Trust Lyme Park offers a magnificent estate surrounded by wild moorland, 17 acres of beautiful gardens, and a deer park. Dating as far back as the 1400s and oozing with Edwardian interiors, the grand hall offers plenty to explore from the library to the stag parlour, and there’s even an opportunity to dress up in the wardrobe department.

White Nancy
A Grade II listed building, White Nancy is an unusual monument found sitting at the top of Kerridge Hill just outside Bollington. Built to commemorate the victory at the Battle of Waterloo, the landmark has since become a popular site for walkers and families to visit, with the breath-taking views of the towns below.

Alton Towers
Bursting with exciting attractions, Alton Towers is ‘Britain’s most loved Theme Park’. In addition to the famous theme park, Alton Towers is home to thrilling rides such as Nemesis, Oblivion and The Smiler. For the younger visitor, CBeebies Land.

Poole’s Cavern & Buxton Country Park
Head underground to explore limestone caverns bursting with history, interesting rock formations, crystal stalagmites and stalactites, and knowledgeable and entertaining guides! Above ground, Poole’s Cavern & Buxton Country Park is also home to woodlands, natural scenery, and Solomon’s Temple, which offers panoramic views overlooking the peak district. Described as a ‘delightful high Victorian garden’, Biddulph Grange Garden is home to an incredible collection of plants from around the world. Macclesfield Silk Museum
From its button beginnings to the silk mills, Macclesfield Silk Museum is bursting with a rich history, taking visitors on a journey of the worker’s lives, wartime process, historic machinery, and more. Home to ‘hands-on exhibits’, you can learn about the silk industry, properties of silk and silk making, and even watch a weaving demonstration in the Paradise Mill.

Quarry Bank Mill
Travel back in time to the industrial revolution at the Quarry Bank Mill. Oozing with heritage, you can experience the ‘sounds and smells’ of steam and water-powered engines, explore the cotton mill to learn about spinning, weaving, the production of material, and the history of the textile industry, tour the Apprentice House for a glimpse into the lives of pauper children, stroll the beautiful gardens, or walk the Styal Estate, filled with woodlands and streams. Interactive, engaging, and educational, the museum exhibits and friendly and knowledgeable staff make Quarry Bank Mill a great day out for all ages.

Manchester United Museum & Stadium Tour
Visit the Museum & Stadium Tour at Old Trafford and walk in the footsteps of greatness. Whether or not you are fans of the Red Devils, the experience provides a fascinating insight into one of the world’s popular football clubs.

Stockport Air Raid Shelters
An interactive journey back in time, the Stockport Air Raid Shelters offers a glimpse into how people lived during the wartime blitz. Explore the labyrinth of tunnels filled with displays, posters, recreated living and sleeping areas, and a bunker, all accompanied by an audio guide highlighting the cultural, political, and social aspects living in the shelters.

Chatsworth House
A beautiful stately home nestled amongst the Peak District National Park, Chatsworth House offers an awe-inspiring and educational visit for all ages. The large mansion is renowned for its artwork and has over 30 rooms to peruse, from the Painted Hall to the Guest Bedrooms. The vast estate is made up of 105 acres of garden-filled with sculptures, waterworks, and a maze, a 1,000-acre park, and a farmyard. The filming location for many popular movies, such as The Duchess and The Wolfman, and a hub of exciting events, Chatsworth is a ‘must see’.
